About Science Olympics
The APEGA Science Olympics are interactive, inter-school events for students in Grades 1 to 12. Science Olympians use problem-solving to develop solutions to a series of challenges that demonstrate how engineering and geoscience impact our everyday lives. Challenges are related to the Alberta school curriculum and are developed by professional engineers and geoscientists, as well as local teachers.
The APEGA Science Olympics – Edmonton consists of two types of challenges:
1. Classroom challenges, which are made in advance and brought to the APEGA Science Olympics for on-site testing and judging.
2. Mystery challenges, which are introduced and completed on the
day of the event.
